Having the opportunity to travel alongside my girl Grace Combs to the San Juan Island off the Washington coast to photograph Andy and Kelsey’s wedding was nothing short of amazing, maybe mixed with a little 2020 stress! The world was just starting to panic and the fear of being stranded in another state had me packing my passport (slip into Canada for a flight…?) and mentally preparing to drive back to Colorado.
Luckily everything went off without a hitch and I met some of the greatest people!
Kelsey and Andy live on the outskirts of Seattle but choose Roche Harbor for the wedding day and I completely understand why, Its a sleepy little village with the most beautiful harbor and Our Lady Of Good Voyage Chapel overlooking it all. Grace and I arrived a day early and were able to scope out the perfect location for a first look, a mossy wooded area with such dreamy light! Every detail of their Roche Harbor wedding was so perfect and so thought out. The chapel was light with dozens of candles giving their ceremony the most intimate and romantic ceremony to photgraph. The reception area at Roche Harbor Resort was decorated impeccably. Sequin table runners, gold details and gorgeous flowers. The wall of glass doors allowed for sunset views and some fresh air for the epic dance party. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!
