Since the first time I set foot in The St. Vrain I have been wanting to do a styled shoot there. One problem, I had never put one together by myself.
Here in Norther Colorado there are so many talented people in the industry its a little intimidating. I had worked alongside some of these vendors before but was very nervous. Its hard to ask people for things, also I had to put together a mood board to get approval to shoot at the venue. But knew I had an amazing vision and really wanted to stretch myself creatively. After many encouraging talks with myself I started writing e mails. Not shockingly everyone I reached out to was so kind and excited to be a part of this project.
I knew I wanted a moderns gown with minimal details that really flattered my models figure. Encore bridal was kind enough to let mus come in for a fitting and they had the perfect gown. The big bow on the back really sold it for me. Next onto flowers. I knew Lace and Lilies from a few previous weddings. Their work is always breath taking so I told them the vibe I was after and let them have free reign on the bouquet and hanging arrangement. For the shoes I chose a bold pop of color and a velvety texture. The final piece was hair and makeup. Studio Be Salon and Refuge Hair totally pampered this sweet couple (who are married with 3 kids by the way!) Erica got a hair treatment and cut while her hubby got a crisp new do as well. Beth the creator of Refuge Hair created 2 different looks for Erica’s hair to show case her simple makeup.
I am so happy with the outcome and learned so much during this project.
