Ryan + Laura Deer Creek Valley Ranch Wedding

Deer Creek Valley Ranch is nestled in a quiet valley near the small town of Bailey Colorado. This mountain setting is just far enough away from Denver that if feels like you hit a reset button just visiting. It was a perfect place for two laid back people to get married on a gorgeous summer day.
I first met Laura when I was photographing her brothers wedding a few years back. That experience was so wonderful and I was so happy to get see their whole family again, but this time to celebrate Ryan and Laura.
Pretty much any venue that has a mountain views and horses is the most exciting thing ever. And pro tip bring a bag of carrots.
Ryan and Laura had their first look at the covered bridge. This time together helped calm some nerves and gave them some extra alone time together before all the guests arrived. We met up with the bridal party on the tree lined drive for some photos before heading back to Deer Creek Valleys amazing Barn.
Ryan and Laura said I DO at the gazebo that sits just at the base of the valley. This gave everyone a stunning view of the pine filled hills and views of the meadows. I love and expressive couple and having all my attention on Laura was so fun. She laughed, she cried, she laughed again. It was such a personal and sweet ceremony! Everyone took advantage of the yard games and cocktails before heading to the patio for the start of the reception. On the way the horses met the couple at the fence line for some treats and some photos, how thoughtful.
The fireplace was going and the string lights were on as they had their first dance on the brick patio. Being up in the mountains on a summers night as the sun is setting is already pretty amazing. Seeing all of Ryan and Laura’s family and friends watch them together was even better.

I think the time we took after dinner to sneak away as the sun set made their day. And it gave them a moment to take in what an important day it had been. And bonus we got some killer photos!
