Natalie and Jake were just about to re-locate from Washington to Nashville, when she first reached out to me about their wedding. They were planning on something short and sweet in the foothills of Colorado, with mostly just family in attendance. They happened upon the Morrison Chapel in old town Morrison, which turned out to be a perfect fit!
I began the day photographing Natalie getting into her dress, and then we headed across the street to the river, where Jake was waiting for her. I love when couples decide to have a first look. It allows for some of the only one on one time they might have the whole day and really sets such a sweet mood for the ceremony (getting some nervous energy out of the way!).
A mutual friend officiated the ceremony, which to be honest, even sent me through all the emotions! I laughed, I cried, and he was able to provide a glimpse at what kind of couple they really are! He did such a great job.
After the ceremony, we all headed to the front lawn for family portraits, and an iconic shot of Natalie and Jake on the steps of the church under the American and Colorado flag! The whole day reminded me of weddings from the past. Meaningful, simple, and oh so sweet!
Afterwards, the whole crew headed to Breckenridge Brewery for a reception, and I had to tag along because I can’t say no to a good photo opportunity! The brewery set them up in a private tasting room, where their parents gave toasts and we all drank some delicious Colorado beer. Vanilla porter baby!
